I learned three things from reading argument papers recently.
1. People have very unique tones and that tone is extremely important in a argument paper due to the level of acceptance on the readers part. Tone is critical because it can show confidence and intelligence.
2. Another thing is the facts used to support. My peers used facts and they were reliable so it made my opposition tougher to argue their facts. They provided information for me to understand their thinking and where it was coming from. Their facts also gave credit to the opposing side that the reader may be on.
3. Realizing the other side just as much as your own is a big part as well. You need to know the ins and outs of both sides, and then you are able to argue it.
I feel like I learned techniques of convincing others and persuading them to think a certain way. These are just three things, I believe more exist.

About the class
When the class began I felt like a decent writer. Certainly I have many flaws, but I broke some of my habits, because of this class. As I go back and read my first post I seemed interested in writing, but was not aware of what this class truly has to offer.
Doing the blog posts showed me how to use this website I never heard of. Made me follow my peers and what they felt about certain topics or assignments in class. My writing experience I believe improved, because my attendance is solid and that allows me to follow the daily classroom assignments. It allowed me to use my imagination a lot more and to look at something and examine it. Writing has a meaning and all types of writing have the same elements. I am satisfied with the knowledge I have gained in this class and knowing it is about midterm time makes me excited, because so much is left to learn about how to be a good college writer. Building that foundation will make writing easier as I keep going to school for many years to come.

Considering rhetorical situations
Literacy narrative and a ad analysis I think have a lot in common. Starting off with the basics, they are both forms of writing! Literacy narrative is telling a story and the details are what you provide for the audience. Ad analysis is also a writing that focuses on getting a point across but its more of a fact thing behind it. Usually promoting something, trying to get a point across by using font changes, pictures, emphasis on one thing more than the other. Ads tend to be very short and detailed. But it requires you to actually sit down and find out why the ad is trying to say something and are you really getting the message. With the literacy narrative you are reading a paper and you have the words there in front of you, the writer is telling you who, what, when, where, and why. Tends to be longer than just a couple minute read, the ad is short but detailed and very creative most of the time to catch the readers attention.

Great papers take a lot of time and effort. Good usage of words and good flow. Transitions between paragraphs. A lot of emotion and vivid language. The structure of each paper is depending on the topic you are writing about. Great papers have great structure and bad papers are confusing for the reader to grasp. An A paper is not done the night before, it takes a couple of drafts and revisions. But a C paper can be done the night before and that is if you are lucky !

Generating Ideas
1. One of my topic essays would be about the development of technology. The way people used to live and operate is completely different than today. The lifestyle of people have changed so much, because we find things out at the touch of a finger, communicate by a touch, and sending media within seconds! But just how every great thing has its benefits, it also has its downfalls. It causes people to be lazy and not use their own knowledge, because the technology at hand can do it for them.
2. Another topic I would think about is the lifestyle we as the people have living in America compared to a country such as Bosnia. The benefits of work, education, diversity, and level of importance. I feel that this topic would allow me to relate two places I am very familiar with. Comparing the two would allow me to show my readers how lucky we are, and also how we are like machines with the lifestyles we are living. I feel that this topic would be extremely descriptive.
3. Getting an education is very important now a days. It will make an impact on your entire life. It is extremely competitive in the real world. Not everyone has the luxury or the money to afford a popular and highly rated university that is in another state or even down the street. Is it really necessary to pay a ridiculous amount to attend a school and take classes you are able to take for 1/4 of the price at a smaller school ? Why is the name of a school so stressed upon students? This topic would be a good one, because every college student would know what I am talking about.

First Blog Jan.12th
The purpose of taking this class is to improve my overall English and writing skills. I feel that it helps me communicate with people of all age groups with many professions. I enjoy talking to new people with great ideas that can defiantly improve my way of thinking. By being in a class with students who intend to learn to write detailed papers will allow me to visualize how others see certain things. I plan on using this class as a tool to improve my writing skills, reading skills, and overall usage of words. It will build the foundation to my college education to become a better writer. Managing my time will be also be something I intended on improving, because I tend to procrastinate when it comes to assignments. I feel like a lot of teens do better under pressure, but the work does not reflect on the full potential a student may have.
